Emilio Villa

An emerging musical and literary project directed by Cándido Flores Tajonar (pseudonym of Emilio Villanueva García), a Mexican writer and songwriter. He is currently a member of the eighth generation of the Composition Workshop of the Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico (SACM) and a sixth-semester student in the Bachelor's program in Hispanic Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (UNAM).

Through Mexican folk expression, the phonic and lexical play of Spanish, and the fusion of musical genres—ranging from Latin American folklore to trip hop, alternative rock, and electronica—Emilio Villa aims to showcase a diverse contemporary songbook that reflects his inquisitive identity.

Their songs are distinguished by their portrait-like nature: they capture the voice of introversion, the narrative of the world from the streets of Mexico, and the visceral, dreamlike reality of everyday perspectives, paying homage to the country's social and cultural diversity. Each song is a platform, a fabric of sound where spoken word, singing, shouting, and rap play together.
The stylistic explorations of his creations make Emilio Villa's artistic project a miscellaneous project in form and discourse, where the individual figure of the artist loses prominence and becomes a collective of words and melody. From his perspective, the work takes precedence over the author.

Emilio Villa is an avid contributor to the Lucid Dream Foundation; his value as an exponent of art in Mexico is invaluable to us.
